A Certified Registered Nurse Anesthet! ist (CRNA) is a Registered Nurse whose education and training is primarily concerned with the administration of anesthesia. Works with anesthesiologists. All age groups of patients will be encountered.
Must be able to administer anesthesia or sedation to patients undergoing a variety of surgical procedures. Ability to communicate with patients, family members and others on the health care team. Ability to solve problems. Ability to document clearly and communicate in writing. Ability to evaluate laboratory results and tests. Ability to manage fluids, blood, and electrolyte therapy. Ability to monitor patients using current techniques. Must be able to work with growth and development needs of all client populations.
When students are providing patient care, treatment, and/or services as a part of their training, any/all employees may be asked to supervise the students.
Required Skills
Graduate of a state board of nursing approved school of! nursing and a graduate of an accredited school of anesthesia ! for nurses.
Required Experience
Being certified by the Council of Certification or re-certified by the Council of Re-certification as applicable. Must hold current Minnesota RN license indicating CRNA status or a board eligible graduate with an approved temporary permit, as granted by the Minnesota Board of Nursing. Must have approval of appointment and requested scope of practice.
