This position administers inhalation anesthesia along with
intravenous, spinal, and other types of anestheti! c agents. Evaluates the patient with the Anesthesiologist and/or surgeon, determines the safest technique and agent for surgical procedure, and takes appropriate action as needed. The CRNA remains with the patient until ventilation is satisfactory then prepares and maintains related reports and records.
Qualifications:
·
Graduate from an approved school of nursing
·
Graduate from an approved school of nurse anesthesia
·
Certified by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists, or eligible to take qualifying exam
·
Licensed to practice nursing in Minnesota
·
BLS & ACLS Certification required
Job Responsibilities:
·
Administers anesthetics for surgical, obstetrical, medical, and dental procedures.
·
Maintains the patient in the desired anesthetic state by adjusting anesthetic as necessary.
·
Records th! e patient’s vital signs and watches for significant changes.!
·
Administers CPR and airway maintenance in areas other than the OR.
·
Maintains a safe physical environment for patients and employees.
·
Backup call one in six nights and weekends.
Qualifications:
·
Graduate from an approved school of nursing
·
Graduate from an approved school of nurse anesthesia
·
Certified by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists, or eligible to take qualifying exam
·
Licensed to practice nursing in Minnesota
·
BLS & ACLS Certification required
