We currently have a vacancy for a number of Data Analysts within our Data Science and Analytics hub on contracts of indefinite duration. This role is aligned with the Bank Professional 3 grade and the BP3 salary scale, between €57,704 and €76,732 applies. Please click here for further information on our salary scales.

The purpose of the role is to contribute to the provision of specialist data analytics expertise which will assist in the delivery of the broad mandate and strategic objectives of the Bank. The role holder will have the opportunity to engage across all areas of the bank, helping to foster innovation and drive transformation.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide expertise and specialist knowledge in the area of data analytics in the support of the prudential supervision of firms and mitigation of cross-sector or firm specific risks in order to ensure the stability of the financial services sector.
  • Develop elements of data analytics work in support of supervisory actions through provision of descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and decision analytics. Develop, monitor, and report data analysis findings regularly through planned/ad-hoc projects and collaboratively with other teams relevant and divisions
  • Ensure appropriate outcome of supervisory work that has been completed is communicated clearly and effectively both to the team, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain and develop data analytics sources/tools/processes to ensure
    • the Bank can deliver on key projects
    • contribute to the Bank-wide data operations
  • Provide relevant skills transfer and coaching to team members to share expertise and ensure that the necessary skills, competencies and knowledge are being developed and leveraged across the team, as appropriate.
  • Work co-operatively with colleagues, strengthening professional relationships, to ensure all deliverables are to a high quality.
  • Carry out such other ad-hoc risk analyst activities as may be determined by the Manager or Senior Analyst, such as participation in projects.
Requirements:
  • A third level honours degree or professional qualification in the area of statistics, business analytics, computer science, maths, finance, economics, risk or any related professional discipline.
  • A Master’s/PhD degree’s in the area of statistics/econometrics, business analytics, computer science, maths, or equivalent qualification (Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), PRMIA)) is desirable
  • 6 years’ relevant experience in data analytics roles within industry, academia, and/ or relevant financial services. Relevant experience includes: working in data analytics/data science, statistical consulting/applied research roles, business intelligence, or data-focused risk analysis within the financial services sector.
  • Understanding/ experience in applying data science/analytics in a business context and practical knowledge of relevant analytics software tools and infrastructure.
  • Good analytical, problem solving and organisational skills.
  • Ability to critically assess complex/ once-off issues and recommend/implement solutions.
  • Proficiency in at least two of the following areas: data/statistical analysis tools and programming languages such as R, Python, Scala ; relational database management (SQL), data warehousing (SQL Server / Services) and business intelligence reporting/visualisation tools
  • Ability to acquire proficiency in the above tools/languages where development is required.
  • Knowledge of, or willingness to acquire an understanding of, the broader regulatory environment.
  • Very good verbal and written communication in particular the ability to relate to senior management and staff.
  • Good capability in managing own workload/ multiple requests.
  • Good stakeholder management and influencing/impact skills.
  • Acting professionally, ethically and with integrity.
