Provides patient care and support during general, regional or MAC anesthesia. Has responsibilities for patient safety while under anesthesia. The CRNA works with the staff Anesthesiologist and Surgeon to provide all elements of a safe and beneficial surgical procedure. Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
Graduate from Accredited School of Nursing
Graduate from Accredited School of Anesthesia
Experience:
None
Knowledge, Skills
& Abilities:
Working knowledge of anatomy and physiology, pharmacology of anesthesia drugs, anesthesia machines and monitors
Ability to perform all functions of anesthesia care to include but not limited to: Intubation, IV starting, monitor management, central line management, IV pump management, management of induction, maintenance and emergence of patients
Ability to work effectively across care teams, including Anesthesiologists, Surgeons, Nurse Anesthetists, patients and families, and other anesthesia staff, surgical staff, and others throughout the hospital
Excellent critical thinking skills
Ability to assess and reassess patients and determine course of action as needed
Ability to make qu ick and safe decisions related to care and administration of anesthesia
Excellent communication skills
Licensure/Registration/Certification:
Certified by NBCRNA
Current RN license by Minnesota Board of Nursing
Current APRN license by Minnesota Board of Nursing
