The Department Of Neurology At Mayo Clinic In Rochester, MN, Is Seeking A Neurologist With Expertise In Intraoperative Monitoring And Electromyography To Join Our Practice.
Position description
The Department of Neurology includes nearly 100 board-certified neurologists, offering highly skilled, state-of-the art neurological care. The neurophysiology laboratory is seeking a subspecialty trained physician in clinical neurophysiology with an intraoperative monitoring clinical and research focus.
The neurophysiology lab at Mayo Clinic supports over 1300 intraoperative monitoring cases annually in complex spine, peripheral nerve, vascular, orthopedic hip, tumor and posterior fossa surgeries, as well as neuroradiology ablation and increasing utilization in surgical pain neuromodulation procedures.
The electromyography laboratory performs nearly 13,000 cases annually. The neurophysiology practice also supports ACGME accredited fellowships in clinical neurophysiology, epilepsy, and neuromuscular diseases.
These divisions have a longstanding tradition of excellence in clinical and basic science research.
The division is seeking an individual with a strong interest in a clinical practice with a demonstrated focus on intraoperative neurophysiology monitoring and electromyography and a track record of academic success in research or education within these areas.
The candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and capacity to work collaboratively with other neurologists, technicians, anesthesiologists, neurosurgeons and orthopedic surgeons.
License or certification
Candidates must be APBN board-certified in Neurology. Candidates must have strong clinical skills and board certification or board eligibility for ABPN clinical neurophysiology, ABEM or ACNS board certification with expertise in the practice of electromyography.
