The OR Assistant performs delegated duties providing support as well as direct patient care under the supervision of an RN,! CRNA or MD. General duties include assisting with patient care, room turnover and set up, supply stocking, assisting in sterile processing decontamination and scope processing, transporting/courier/runner as well as providing assistance to Anesthesia and RN's in care coordination. Providing incentive spirometry instruction for our patients. The ability to function in high productivity and stressful situations is essential. Good communication, flexibility, attention to detail and teamwork are essential components to the success of this position.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
MN basic or intermediate EMT license or within 1 month of hire.
License/Certificates:
MN EMT basic or Intermediate License within 1 month. National EMT basic or intermediate required upon hire. Current American Heart Association CPR certificate and valid driver's license required.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Promptly r! esponds to urgent requests for room-turnover, equipment and tr! ansport/courier requests
Performs OR room turnovers, prepares anesthesia machine/equipment/room for following cases
Assists in decontamination
Correctly and carefully processes flexible scopes and other surgical equipment
Provides indirect care to patients under MD, CRNA or RN supervision
Assists in patient transports
Performs terminal cleaning of rooms
Stocking and outdates of supplies
Pick up or deliver equipment to Riverwood when needed.
Readily available in emergency situations to be a runner or resource person.
Performing a Can-Do Spirit while other duties may be assigned.
