The registered nurse is a member of the perioperative team working with physicians, CRNAs, surgical technologists, and other personnel in delivering quality patient care and assuming appropriate responsibil! ities before, during and after surgery. The registered nurse utilizes the nursing process within a focused care environment in providing direct and indirect care to patients to achieve the mission of the organization of outstanding patient care. Patients of all ages are served. Implements and abides by Customer Service Standards. Maintains a positive attitude in the work environment. Supports and implements patient safety and other safety practices as appropriate. Supports and demonstrates Family Centered Care principles when interacting with patients and their families and with co-workers.
EDUCATION
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
required
. Baccalaureate or Masters in Nursing
preferred
.
EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of nursing standards, policies, procedures and ethics.
Previous experience in perioperative or surgical experience
preferred
.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT! S
Current licensure as a registered nurse in the Stat! e of Minnesota
required
.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider card
required
prior to completion of unit orientation.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
required
(with the exception of casual staff).
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
required
(with the exception of casual staff).
National Certification in a Nursing Specialty
preferred
